Containers

The beverage container should set the drink apart it from its competitors. There are hundreds of types of beverage containers including glass, plastic, PET, HDPE, aluminum, tetra and others.

Bottle

A bottle is a rigid container with a neck that is narrower than the body and which opens into a mouth. Manufacturers make bottles from glass, plastic, ceramic, aluminum or other impervious materials for storing liquids such as water, milk, cooking oil, soft drinks, alcoholic beverages, medicine, shampoo, ink, paint or chemicals. They apply external bottle caps, closures or internal stoppers in the bottling line to seal the mouth of a bottle. Plastic caps seal plastic bottles, and metal, usually steel, bottle caps or closures with plastic backings seal most others.

Can

A beverage can is a container manufactured from aluminum or steel designed to hold a single serving of a beverage. Manufacturers stamp plain lids from a coil of aluminum (typically alloy 5182-H48) and then transfer them to another press that produces easy-open ends. The conversion press forms an integral rivet button in the lid and scores the opening while concurrently forming the tabs in another die from a separate strip of aluminum. It then pushes the tab over the button and flattens it to form the rivet that attaches the tab to the lid.
